Music app lyrics feature

Design system $ style guide
My first consideration was to integrate the client's style guidelines, encompassing color schemes, icons, visuals, and fonts, ensuring unwavering brand consistency and messaging.

Visual Research
I delved deep into visual research, exploring existing apps for inspiration and insights.

I leveraged the client's own music app designs as a wellspring of inspiration, ensuring my creative direction harmonized perfectly with their vision. This synergy allowed me to create a truly resonant and cohesive user experience that amplifies the app's unique character.

Music player screen - before redesign
With the initial music player screen in place, my next creative endeavor is two-fold: seamlessly integrate a lyrics feature for users to engage with song lyrics while listening and make it effortlessly identifiable. This is where design innovation meets user experience excellence

Designs explorations - lyrics feature
Considering our target audience, I knew that the users of the app are tech savvy individuals who understand iconography very well, so I knew I could rely on an icon to navigate users to a lyrics screen.

Final design recommendation & rationale
After some exploring, I quickly came to the conclusion that the lyrics were best suited on a new screen, since they take up so much room, and utilized the existing icon location to add a new one in the same spot.
The lyrics mode can be toggled on or off, giving our users the flexibility to either have the lyrics mode if they like or keep our standard player view. I did this because it is important to make sure that we are providing all of our users with their desired experience, so having the option to select which one works best for them helps achieve that.
